The Bellevue Police Department has cleared Marshawn Lynch in its investigation into allegations of assault and property damage, saying the Seahawks running back “was not involved in this incident in any way.”
BPD issued a press release Wednesday night, two days after announcing that Lynch was under investigation.
“This case remains an open and active investigation. We appreciate the cooperation we have received from Mr. Lynch and the Seahawks organization during this investigation,” BPD’s statement read, in part.
The incident was alleged to have occurred early Sunday at a downtown Bellevue apartment, and the allegations were made by a woman who claimed Lynch was the suspect.
On Tuesday, the Seahawks released a one-sentence statement calling the allegations “bogus.”
