LISTEN:

RENTON – Seahawks strong safety Kam Chancellor is one of the NFL’s most intimidating players thanks to a resume that is full of big hits.

So you can understand why it took him a little while to come up with an answer when he joined 710 ESPN Seattle’s “Brock and Salk” Tuesday and was asked to narrow that list down to his three favorite.

Here they are, in the order Chancellor mentioned them:

The game: at Cleveland, 2011
The victim: RB Montario Hardesty

Chancellor couldn’t quite remember the name of the Browns’ running back that he leveled during an otherwise forgettable 6-3 loss. The play, though, he recalled just fine. Chancellor’s hit looked like something you’d see in a WWE wrestling ring as opposed to a football field.

“He was about to cut back,” Chancellor recalled, “I caught him in midfield, picked him up, slammed him.”

Check out the video on YouTube.

The game: vs. San Francisco, 2012
The victim: TE Vernon Davis

“Of course, my Vernon Davis hit,” Chancellor said. “That’s got to go up there. The first one.”

Thanks for clarifying. After all, Chancellor has rocked Davis twice now, most recently in the NFC title game when the tight end made a catch over the middle. But Part 1 was more memorable, a hit that resulted in a personal-foul penalty on Chancellor and a concussion for Davis.

Here’s the video.

The game: vs. Washington, 2011
The victim: WR Santana Moss

Entering Seattle’s Week-12 meeting with Washington, Chancellor had been fined in consecutive games for illegal – and vicious – hits on defenseless receivers. Perhaps that was on Moss’ mind when he got behind cornerback Brandon Browner and was in position to make a deep reception. Chancellor was bearing down on him, though, and he unloaded on Moss right after the ball popped out of his hands.

Honorable mention:

• at Dallas, 2011: RB Phillip Tanner
• at Arizona, 2013: RT Eric Winston
• vs. Denver, Super Bowl XLVIII: WR Demaryius Thomas
