Seahawks Pro Bowl defensive lineman Michael Bennett has hired a familiar name to represent him.
Doug Hendrickson, best known in Seattle as Marshawn Lynch’s agent, has been hired by Bennett just a week after he parted ways with his previous agent, Drew Rosenhaus, according to Bob Condotta of the Seattle Times.

With Hendrickson, Bennett will continue to pursue a new deal with Seattle to replace the four-year, $28.5 million contract he signed after the 2013 season. Bennett, 30, has voiced his dissatisfaction with the deal many times since last offseason.
One thing that is for sure is that Bennett has as much bargaining power as ever after making his first Pro Bowl following a career year in 2015 for the Seahawks. He had a career-high 10 sacks and 52 combined tackles, plus two forced fumbles and played in every game for the third straight year. Also helping him is the fact that he never held out, unlike Lynch in 2014 and Kam Chancellor last season.
What stands in the way is the stance the Seahawks have taken under general manager John Schneider to not renegotiate contracts that have more than a year left on them. Hendrickson does have a record of success in that regard, though, having negotiated changes to Lynch’s deal that ended his holdout.
Hendrickson works with the Relativity Sports agency and also represents former University of Washington stars Desmond Trufant, Marcus Peters and Shaq Thompson.
