Did you think they were done? As they did in 2019, the Seahawks traded a future sixth-round pick to get back into the draft in the seventh round. And like last year when they selected receiver John Ursua, Seattle selected a pass catcher, LSU receiver/tight end Stephen Sullivan, with the 251st pick.

The Breakdown: A look at all the players picked by Seahawks

The ESPN broadcast listed Sullivan as a tight end, which is where he played in college and would make sense as he’s 6 foot 5 and 248 pounds, but the Seahawks PR team listed him as a receiver on its Twitter account.

Seahawks coach Pete Carroll said following the draft that Seattle is looking at Sullivan more as a tight end.

According to Sullivan’s NFL.com draft profile, he was a top-10 receiver prospect out of high school before signing with the Tigers. He played in eight games as a freshman, but he did not record a catch. His sophomore season, he started eight games and caught 11 passes for 219 yards and a touchdown. Sullivan’s best year was his junior season, when he caught 23 passes for 363 yards and two touchdowns while starting one game. He caught just 12 passes for 130 yards as a senior.

Sullivan is an intriguing prospect because of his physical tools. As noted, he’s 6 foot 5 and weighs just under 250 pounds and he can really move. According to his draft profile, Sullivan ran an unofficial 4.66-second 40-yard dash. He also has a 36.5-inch vertical leap and has long, 35 and 3/8-inch arms.

Since the Seahawks see Sullivan as a tight end, he would be the second one selected this draft, joining fourth-round pick Colby Parkinson, who played at Stanford.

The Seahawks appeared to be done with the draft after selecting Swain with the final pick of the sixth round, but they shipped their 2021 sixth-round pick to the Miami Dolphins for the 251st pick, which was used on Sullivan.

Sullivan is the eighth player that the Seahawks selected this draft, and is one of five offensive players selected, joining Parkinson, Swain, third-round guard Damien Lewis and fourth-round running back DeeJay Dallas.

Now, all eyes will turn to undrafted free agency.
