Video: Seahawks DT Brandon Mebane on the different atmosphere playing in St. Louis

In the video above, Seahawks defensive tackle Brandon Mebane talks to the media Thursday about what makes playing games against the Rams in St. Louis so difficult.

Included below are additional quotes from Mebane’s availability.

(On coming back in better shape) “I just took my job serious. I love playing this game. It was a very, very hard rehab because I had to train by myself. Usually we have a whole group of defensive linemen. It was very hard to do the same things every day. It was tough, but my daughter and my wife, they motivated me. They kept me going, kept striving and I just had a goal in mind that I just wanted to reach.”

(On Frank Clark) “My impression of him is that he listens. Whenever we talk to him, tell him things, he’s just always trying to soak in information. Obviously, he’s a rookie, he’s going to do things that veteran guys pretty much don’t do. But he’s basically trying to find himself and see what works for him. You know we always tell him, every day, just try to mix it up man. Find out what technique works good for you, and whenever you find it, keep it. Hone in on it. Use it.”

(On his confidence in Dion Bailey filling in for Kam Chancellor) “Obviously they’re two different players. Dion is a very smart player. I didn’t know this about Dion, Dion actually played some linebacker at USC. He played in the box, you play in that box, I know he’s not scared to come up and hit. That’s probably going to happen a lot for him. In this came, you can be one-on-one with the running back, and you’ve got to make that decision. I’ve got a lot of faith in him. I think he’s going to do very well, I’m excited to see him play. He’s a young guy, can’t wait to see him play.”

(On changing how they play without Chancellor) “It’s going to be different without Kam. Kam has a very great presence in the locker room and on the field. It’s going to be tough, but we’ve just got to keep fighting and hope he returns and hope everything works out for him.”
