Wyman’s Football 101: What Seahawks lose with Mychal Kendricks’ injury
Dec 31, 2019, 3:49 PM | Updated: 3:51 pm
The Seahawks are going into the playoffs without linebacker Mychal Kendricks.
What was so encouraging about the Seahawks’ play in loss to 49ers?
Head coach Pete Carroll confirmed Monday afternoon that Kendricks will undergo surgery to repair a torn ACL suffered in Sunday’s 26-21 loss to the San Francisco 49ers, and there’s no doubt that losing a starting linebacker of Kendricks’ ability is a detriment for Seattle.
In this week’s Football 101 video, former NFL linebacker and current Seahawks Radio Network color commentator Dave Wyman shares one thing Kendricks did in the 49ers game that his replacement, rookie Cody Barton, needs to learn before Seattle takes on quarterback Carson Wentz and the Philadelphia Eagles in Seattle’s first-round playoff matchup next Sunday.
Also in the video, Wyman points out the stats he says matter concerning the Seahawks coming out of the regular season.
Seattle’s matchup with the Eagles is set for 1:40 p.m. Sunday. Wyman will be on the call with play-by-play man and fellow former Seahawks player Steve Raible on 710 ESPN Seattle and KIRO Radio 97.3 FM. Coverage will begin at 10:30 a.m. with the pregame show.
