Seahawks running back Chris Carson was perhaps the biggest star of Sunday’s 30-24 win over the Carolina Panthers.

Not only did Carson run for a career-high 133 yards and two touchdowns on 24 carries, but he did so with his mom in attendance. The game was played in Charlotte, which is driving distance from the Atlanta area, where Carson grew up.

So what did Carson’s mother have to say once the game was over?

“‘You gotta hurry up because I got a certain amount of time on the parking meter,'” Carson relayed to 710 ESPN Seattle’s Bob, Dave and Moore. “She was rushing me the whole time.”

Maybe it was a little payback for an old interview Carson gave.

“She always tries to find the bright spots in everything, especially if I come out (of a game healthy) … (but) with interviews, not so much,” Carson said. “She can kinda nitpick. I think it was a long time ago I said, ‘My mom blows me up on my phone,’ and she was, ‘Oh, so I blow you up now? How about I not text you no more?'”

Carson did save his mother from any fear that he wouldn’t come out of Sunday’s game without his health. The Panthers’ Bank of America Stadium was the site of a memorable play last season where he did a full front flip, landed on his feet and kept running (watch here).

A similar kind of play wasn’t in the cards this time around.

“People talked about and reminded me that this was the field it happened at. ‘You gonna do another one?’ Nah, that’s a one in a million thing. … (Mom was there so) I was definitely wasn’t jumping again.”

Carson also talked about his 6-yard touchdown run that came on fourth-and-1, how Seattle’s offense got off to a good start against Carolina and much more in the interview. You can listen to it in full in the player below or at this link.
