The Mariners have put a lot of work into bolstering their farm system, and now three of their top prospects will get a chance to shine on the big stage that is the MLB All-Star Futures Game.

Are Mariners ‘winning’ trades Jerry Dipoto has made since rebuild began?

Outfielder Jarred Kelenic headlines the trio of M’s prospects heading to Cleveland for the MLB All-Star festivities, with pitcher Justin Dunn and first baseman Evan White also coming along for the trip.

The 19-year-old Kelenic was the centerpiece of the Mariners’ blockbuster offseason trade with the New York Mets, a deal that also brought Dunn to Seattle’s farm system. Kelenic was the No. 6 overall pick of the 2018 MLB Draft by the Mets, while Dunn was a first-round Mets pick in 2016. White was the Mariners’ top pick in 2017, taken 17th overall.

Kelenic began this season at Low-A West Virginia, but he was promoted after just 50 games to High-A Modesto. He hit .309 with 11 home runs, 29 RBIs, seven stolen bases and a .981 OPS with West Virginia, and in 15 games at Modesto he has a .250 average, two homers, four steals and a .772 OPS.

Dunn, a 23-year-old right-hander, is 5-3 with a 3.45 ERA, 1.22 WHIP, 90 strikeouts and 21 walks over 14 starts (70 1/3 innings) with Double-A Arkansas this year.

White, 23, is heralded for his defensive ability at first base but is having his best offensive season as a pro in 2019. He is hitting .302 with an .848 OPS, nine home runs and 27 RBIs in 51 games with Arkansas.

Kelenic is the Mariners’ top-rated prospect according to MLB Pipeline, which has him ranked 24th on its top 100 list. Dunn ranks 67th and White is 81st on the same list.

The Mariners are one of five teams that will have three representatives in the Futures Game. The Futures Game will have an American League vs. National League format for the first time since it was created in 1999; it previously pitted a team of United States prospects against a team of World prospects. The game will be played at 4 p.m. on Sunday, July 7 at Cleveland’s Progressive Field, with TV coverage on the MLB Network.
