Seahawks trade down twice in first round of NFL Draft, add 4 picks

The Seattle Seahawks did what they do as their first pick approached in the 2019 NFL Draft – they traded back. Not just once, but twice.

As the Seahawks were on the clock at No. 21 during Thursday’s first round, they sent that pick to the Green Bay Packers, getting in return the Packers’ first-round pick at No. 30 overall, plus a pair of fourth-round picks: No. 114 and No. 118.
That No. 30 pick then found its way to the hands of the New York Giants, with Seattle getting a second-rounder (No. 37 overall), a fourth-rounder (No. 132) and a fifth-rounder (No. 142).
By trading down twice from that initial No. 21 spot, the Seahawks pushed their pick total from five to nine in the span of about an hour.
By the way, the Seahawks did make one pick in the first round: defensive end L.J. Collier from TCU.
