The Seahawks have signed free agent defensive end/linebacker Cassius Marsh, who was released earlier this offseason by the San Francisco 49ers. The contract is a one-year deal, according to ESPN.com’s Brady Henderson.

The 26-year-old Marsh was a fourth-round draft pick by the Seahawks in 2014, and he spent three seasons in Seattle, playing in all 16 games in each of the 2015 and 2016 campaigns. He was traded by the Seahawks to the New England Patriots for a fifth-round draft pick in 2017, and ended up in San Francisco after he was released him by the Patriots nine games into the 2017 season.

Marsh played linebacker until the 2018 season, switching to defensive end with the 49ers. He played in all 16 games last year, starting three. He had 38 combined tackles, 5.5 sacks, 14 QB hits, seven tackles for loss and a fumble recovery.

Marsh shared an Instagram post Thursday afternoon signaling that he has signed with Seattle, and shortly after the Seahawks announced they had signed both Marsh and fellow pass-rusher Nate Orchard.
