The Seahawks are going to have their work cut out for them on Monday night, playing in what amounts to a must-win for the Minnesota Vikings and their top-flight defense.

What Vikings DE Danielle Hunter sees from Seahawks’ offense

On Friday’s Blue 42 segment, Brock and Salk host Brock Huard couldn’t help but be reminded of a handful of college defenses in the Midwest.

“(The Vikings) remind me of the traditional Big 10 defense,” said Brock. “Like if you went and saw Iowa, or watched Northwestern or Michigan State, through all of these years in the Midwest, there’s just a hard and fast very consistent defense.”

More than that, with the Seahawks deep in the playoff hunt themselves, it certainly doesn’t help to play lesser teams.

“Head coaches like Pete [Carroll] who’ve been in it for decades, you know what you love to play against? You love to play against defenses that you find vulnerabilities. You love to play defenses that are unsound,” said Brock.

The Vikings, though, are not one of those teams.

“They just make you earn everything,” he noted. “That’s the hard part with this crew — they’re well coached [and] they’re pretty strong up the middle. Let’s hope that doesn’t get going Monday night, because if that comes, they become a really difficult team to find any holes in.”
