The Seahawks are 9.5-point underdogs heading into their Week 10 road game against the Los Angeles Rams (8-1) on Sunday, Nov. 11. It’s just the fourth time in Russell Wilson’s career Seattle has been an underdog of seven or more points.

Head coach Pete Carroll acknowledged the difficulty of facing the high-rolling Rams, and previewed the matchup during his Friday morning interview with KIRO Radio’s Dori Monson.

Here are a few highlights from Monson’s interview with Carroll. The full interview will air at 12:30 p.m. on 97.3 KIRO.

You have three starters who left the game last week with injuries. Do you have an update on the status for either Chris Carson (hip), Bradley McDougald (knee) or D.J. Fluker (calf)? “Those guys are all really gametime decisions. They’re just guys that are just nursing kind of nagging things that have been bothering them and we’re trying to figure out how to manage their way through it, and then find out nearer to gametime if they can play for us. So we’re still waiting and seeing.”

How do you stop an offense like the Rams? “Their offense continues to just function at a really high level and they’re running the ball better than anybody, and the quarterback is playing lights out. And they’re not giving the ball up. To beat these guys you’re going to need to take the ball off them two, three times in a game and make something out of (those turnovers) as well. So that’s part of the challenge. But they’re really just well-rounded and they’re solid. They’re kicking game has good experience… they have a really solid football team and you’re going to have to beat them by taking the football away.”

The Rams were the last undefeated team until losing to the Saints last week. Will we ever see another undefeated NFL team? “I think it’s totally possibly, yeah, of course. It could happen. I don’t see any reason why it wouldn’t. But it’s so rare, obviously, it’s once-in-a-lifetime. But I could see it happening for sure. But there’s a lot of elements that go into that, you know, and I don’t see why it wouldn’t. Don’t add any more games, keep it at 16.”
