The Seahawks picked up an additional linebacker on Monday, claiming undrafted rookie Emmanuel Ellerbee off waivers from the Los Angeles Chargers.
Will K.J. Wright or Ed Dickson have most impact for Seahawks in return?
Ellerbee, 21, played for Rice in college and has appeared in three games this season for the Chargers. He initially signed with Atlanta in the offseason but was waived by the Falcons as part of their roster cuts in September.
The Seahawks had a roster spot to fill with safety T.J. Green being placed on the exempt list with the designation that he left the team. On Green’s decision to leave the Seahawks, coach Pete Carroll said, “I can’t tell you other than he was ready to stop playing football.”
Ellerbee was a first-team All-Conference USA selection as both a junior and senior at Rice.
