The Seattle Seahawks have found a new home away from home all the way in England.

Despite being designated the visiting team against the Oakland Raiders at Wembley Stadium, the Seahawks rolled to a 27-3 win in front of a considerably partisan crowd cheering in their favor.

It was a big day for defensive end Frank Clark, who had 2 1/2 sacks, including a pair of strip sacks, to contribute to a dominant defensive performance for Seattle.

On offense, the Seahawks got things going on the ground early and found just as much success through the air to put away the Raiders.

Here’s a quarter-by-quarter look at the Seahawks’ victory, which gets them to 3-3 with their bye week coming up.

First quarter

Seahawks 7, Raiders 0

The Seahawks saved something special for their trip across the pond: their first touchdown scored on an opening drive of a game since 2016.

Seattle stuck to what has become its identity over the last three weeks to jump out to the lead at Wembley Stadium, relying on its running game to set the tone against the Raiders.

On a 14-play, 82-yard scoring drive, 10 of those plays were runs. Chris Carson was the main running back, picking up 20 yards on seven carries, but it was rookie Rashaad Penny who had the big play of the series – and the first big play of his Seahawks career. The 2018 first-round draft pick picked up 24 yards on a catch and run, getting the Seahawks into Oakland territory.

Tight end Tyrone Swoopes, a recent signing off the practice squad to help out at a position depleted by injuries, added a 23-yard reception up the middle a few plays later to get Seattle to the 2. The Seahawks needed five plays after that – thanks to a penalty on each side – to get in the end zone, but they finally did on a 5-yard pass from Russell Wilson to wide receiver Jaron Brown.

The offense went right back to work after the defense handed Oakland a three-and-out on the Raiders’ first offensive series. All three plays were handoffs to former Seahawks running back Marshawn Lynch, who gained two yards on each of his first two runs but was brought down in the backfield by Seattle’s Quinton Jefferson and Jacob Martin for a loss of 3 on third-and-6.

The Seahawks punted on their second series of the day, and the defense appeared to get a big stop on second-and-14 for Oakland late in the frame, but Frank Clark’s sack of Oakland quarterback Derek Carr was nullified for defensive holding on Shaquill Griffin. Clark did one better a few plays later, however. He sacked Carr again, this time jarring the ball loose, allowing Jarran Reed to recover the fumble at Oakland’s 24 and give the Seahawks great field position leading into the second quarter.

Second quarter

Seahawks 17, Raiders 0

One of Russell Wilson’s best traits as a quarterback is to take a broken play and turn it into something positive. The Oakland Raiders were reminded of that early in the second quarter on Sunday.

On third-and-5 from the Oakland 19, Wilson bobbled the shotgun snap. But he recovered, pump faked, moved up in the pocket and threw a strike to David Moore in the end zone for the second-year wide receiver’s third touchdown since last Sunday.

The Seattle defense struggled throughout the following series for Oakland, yielding 45 yards over a 15-play drive, including a missed opportunity on a Quinton Jefferson sack that was nullified as he was called for a facemask. The Seahawks were no worse for wear at the end of the series, though, as the Raiders stalled out at the 30 and then missed a 48-yard field goal attempt to keep Seattle’s 14-0 lead intact. A lot of credit for that miss belongs to Seahawks defensive end Branden Jackson, who sacked Derek Carr for a loss of 7 on the previous play.

Oakland had another long drive that produced no points, turning the ball over on downs at its own 41 after 11 plays. Wilson connected with Moore again on the first play of Seattle’s next series to get the Seahawks in field goal position, and while a false start held them back, longtime Raiders kicker and first-year Seahawks Sebastian Janikowski drilled a 44-yard field goal as the first half ended.

Notable: Raiders wide receiver Amari Cooper took a hard shot from Seahawks safety Bradley McDougald and was being evaluated for a concussion as the helmet-to-helmet hit resulted in Cooper being knocked out on the field.

SEA – David Moore 19 pass from Wilson (Janikowski kick), 14:17
SEA – Janikowski 44 FG, :02

Third quarter

Seahawks 20, Raiders 0

Seahawks defensive end Frank Clark made life a living nightmare for Raiders quarterback Derek Carr. On back-to-back plays, Clark was one of two players in on a sack of Carr, then followed up with his second strip sack of the day. Rookie Jacob Martin was there to recover the fumble, giving Seattle yet another short field and an easy shot to add to its lead.

Clark had four tackles, 2 1/2 sacks, two forced fumbles and three QB hits through that point in the game.

The Seahawks tacked on their second field goal of the day after Martin’s fumble recovery, Sebastian Janikowski hitting from 26 yards to make it a 20-0 Seattle advantage.

Seattle had an opportunity to add even more to its lead, but Russell Wilson was picked off in the end zone by Oakland’s Daryl Worley trying to complete a pass to Doug Baldwin. Even so, the Seahawks had the ball back and were knocking on the door once again at the end of the quarter.

Notable: Rookie cornerback Tre Flowers left the game due to cramping while Baldwin had his right elbow taped up following the interception, per Jen Mueller on the 710 ESPN Seattle radio broadcast.

SEA – Janikowski 26 FG, 11:45

Fourth quarter

Seahawks 27,  Raiders 3

The Seahawks put this one away on the first play of the fourth quarter, with Wilson finding Tyler Lockett for a 10-yard touchdown to push Seattle’s lead to 27-0. That gives Lockett five TD receptions on the season, keeping him among the NFL leaders in that category.

The Raiders were at least able to avoid the shutout. Rookie kicker Matt McCrane hit from 43 yards to give Oakland a field goal midway through the fourth.

The Seahawks got the ball back with over 8 minutes to go, and they put together a long, sustained drive to run out the clock and get back to .500 heading into their bye week.

SEA – Tyler Lockett 10 pass from Wilson (Janikowski kick), 14:55
OAK
– Matt McCrane 43 FG, 8:30
