Robinson Cano wanted to make sure Jim Moore went through with a promise. On Friday afternoon in Edgar’s Cantina at Safeco Field, Moore came through.

Moore told the Mariners All-Star last season that he would bring him a CD of one of his favorite bands, Skillet, to see if Cano’s taste in music was really as varied as his walk-up music suggests. Cano didn’t forget about that conversation, so when Danny, Dave and Moore visited Mariners spring training in March, he asked where the CD was.

Jim didn’t have it.

Moore got one more shot on Friday when Danny, Dave and Moore sat down with Cano before Seattle started its series against the Angels, and this time he had the CD in question.

“Oh, finally,” Cano said as he realized Moore was making good on his promise.

Will Robbie like the music so much so that a Skillet song will join Ed Sheeran’s “Shape of You” in his rotation of walk-up songs?

“You never know,” he said.

Of course, Cano talked about much more than music in his interview with Moore, Dave Wyman and Danny O’Neil (dressed as Princess Leia for May 4th – Star Wars Day). You can find the full segment in the Hour 1 podcast of Friday’s show.
