Someone is spreading a rumor about Rasheem Green.

After the ex-Trojans defensive lineman was selected in the third round by the Seahawks Friday, an infographic noted an interesting fact about Green: he can play Darude’s “Sandstorm” on a kazoo.

The problem?

“Ok, I heard that, too, I read that, and I’ve never even held a kazoo in my life,” Green said, with a laugh. “You read that on Wikipedia? That is fake news. That is fake news. But what’s funny is I read that, and I have one… in the mail soon. Because I think it’s pretty cool, I wanna try it out.”

Green joined Danny, Dave and Moore on 710 ESPN Seattle Monday to talk about being drafted by the Seahawks, his pet lizard (named after one of his teammates as a joke) and what he brings to Seattle as a player.

He isn’t a wizard and he can’t read minds – that’s what he tells us, anyway, so we’ll take his word for it – but Green can anticipate a play, a skill the new Seahawks’ defensive lineman is especially proud of.

“It’s something I’ve done a good job of this past season, where I’m better at knowing what plays are going to do and certain formations,” Green said. So does that mean Moore can use Green’s instincts to his advantage in Vegas?

“Oh no. We’ll lose money.”

The Seahawks selected Green in the third round of the 2018 NFL Draft. Head coach Pete Carroll knows the 20-year-old has room to grow, but both he and general manager John Schneider told reporters Friday they were excited to be able to snag Green in the third round.

“We knew him really well, everyone really liked him,” Carroll said. “Our expectation is that we’re going to play him at five technique, we’re going to play him at defensive end and use him as an inside rusher as well in nickel situations and we’ll see what that brings us. That’s the thought right now. We needed a little help there so it’s a good get for us.”

Green told Danny, Dave and Moore that when he got the call on draft day, he was excited to see a 425 area code.

“I knew it was the Seahawks and I was so happy,” Green said, “because I’m not going to lie the Seahawks were the team I was hoping would pick me up. I was really excited.

“I didn’t have a list (of teams I wanted) but the Seahawks were probably the top team in my mind where I could see myself. So this is like a dream come true.”
