The brother of five-year NFL veteran Josh Martin, Jake Martin is a edge-rush specialist who earned second-team All-American Athletic Conference honors in 2017. He made 39 tackles, 11 tackles for loss and eight sacks in 12 games as a senior.
Martin is the second linebacker taken by the Seahawks, following Shaquem Griffin in the fifth round, and the second player considered to be a help to their pass rush after third-round selection Rasheem Green, a defensive end from USC.
