The Seahawks made their run game their priority in the first round of the NFL Draft, taking San Diego State’s Rashaad Penny with the No. 27 pick.
The Seahawks selected Penny after initially trading down from No. 18, sending that pick and a seventh rounder to Green Bay for No. 27, a third-round pick and a sixth-round pick.
Penny led the nation with 2,248 rushing yards as a senior in 2017 for the Aztecs, adding 23 touchdowns on 289 carries. He also caught 19 passes for 135 yards and two touchdowns and was used in the return game by San Diego State, returning one punt and two kickoffs for touchdowns.
