Norm’s Eatery & Alehouse, the dog-friendly bar in Seattle’s Fremont neighborhood, is selling pints of beer at the price of Chone Figgins’ current batting average.
That’s good news for the bar’s patrons, as the Mariners third baseman is continuing to struggle at the plate in his second season in Seattle. After an 0-for-4 day on Wednesday, Figgins is hitting just .202, which means pints of Widmer will run you $2.02.
A bar employee said the deal runs only on Mondays and includes pints of Widmer Hefeweizen and Drop Top Amber Ale.
Such promotions are nothing new, of course. Norm’s sold pints at the price of Milton Bradley’s batting average last season. Another Seattle bar used to have similar beer specials based on the batting average of Mariners catcher Dave Valle, a career .237 hitter in 13 major league seasons.
More information about Norm’s can be found on the bar’s Facebook page.
