Dee Gordon is back in center field and leading off for the Mariners’ series opener in Chicago against the White Sox at 5:10 p.m. on 710 ESPN Seattle.

Gordon didn’t start on Sunday – his 30th birthday – to rest a nagging foot issue. He did make an appearance in the ninth inning as a pinch hitter, however.
On the mound, Mike Leake will look to throw his third quality start of the season for the Mariners.
Also of note, the Mariners are playing at Guaranteed Rate Field, where former Mariners and current White Sox pitcher Danny Farquhar suffered a brain hemorrhage during Friday’s White Sox-Astros game. Both teams have Farquhar jerseys hanging up in their dugouts.

Farquhar remains in critical but neurologically stable condition at RUSH University Medical Center, according to a statement released Monday by the White Sox. He underwent successful surgery Saturday to address his aneurysm, and has use of his extremities, is responding appropriately to questions and commands, and is speaking to doctors and his family.
Coverage of Monday’s game begins at 4 p.m. with the pregame show on 710 ESPN Seattle.
