Erasmo Ramirez has returned from the 10-day disabled list and will make his season debut in Sunday’s series finale in Texas as the Mariners go for a sweep.

To make room for Ramirez on the active roster, Seattle optioned outfielder Guillermo Heredia to Triple-A Tacoma.

Ramirez, 27, suffered a lat strain just days into spring training. He made three rehab starts in the minors – one with high-A Modesto and two with Tacoma, allowing a combined three runs over 12 2/3 innings. Acquired during trade deadline season last July by the Mariners, he went 1-3 with a 3.92 ERA and 54 strikeouts in 11 starts (62 innings) with Seattle in 2017.

Heredia, 27, has appeared in 16 games for the Mariners in 2018, hitting .310 (9 for 29) with four runs, one double, two home runs and four RBIs.

The Mariners finish up their series with the Rangers at 12:05 p.m. on 710 ESPN Seattle. Coverage starts at 11 a.m. with the pregame show.

Seattle’s lineup does not include Dee Gordon, as the center fielder and leadoff man gets the day off. Instead, the Mariners have moved Mitch Haniger to center, with Ichiro Suzuki taking over in right field.
