Mariners lineup: Miranda up, Motter down before Game 2 vs Astros

As expected, the Mariners have called up left-handed pitcher Ariel Miranda from Triple-A Tacoma to start Tuesday’s Game 2 against the Houston Astros.
The Mariners optioned utility player Taylor Motter to the Rainiers to make room for Miranda on the active roster.

Miranda will match up against Houston right-hander Lance McCullers Jr. in the 7:10 p.m. game on 710 ESPN Seattle. The 29-year-old southpaw has made a pair of starts in the minors this year – one with High-A Modesto and one with Tacoma. He appeared in 31 games last year for Seattle, including 29 starts, going 8-7 with a 5.12 ERA.
Motter went 4 for 15 (.267) a home run and two runs scored in seven games with the Mariners.
