Janikowski, a one-time Pro Bowler who has played 268 career games over 17 NFL seasons – all with the Oakland Raiders – will fly to Seattle on Tuesday to meet with the Seahawks, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter.
Janikowski was 29 for 35 (82.9 percent) on field goals last season and 37 for 39 (94.9 percent) on extra points. He was released by Oakland in February.
Blair Walsh, last year’s kicker for the Seahawks, is a free agent and not expected to return to Seattle. He missed eight of his 29 field goal attempts (72.4 percent), though he did make 37 of 38 extra points.
The Seahawks signed former Jaguars kicker Jason Myers to a futures deal earlier this year to compete for the 2018 kicker job.
