Stelton: Did we underestimate what the Mariners could do this year?

Apr 4, 2018, 11:20 AM

The Mariners are 3-1 through their first four games of the season, and you have to say that so far they’ve been impressive.

MLB Network’s Morosi: Felix is Mariners’ key to playoffs

Every starting pitcher has been good so far, with the exception of James Paxton, who was the team’s best pitcher a year ago. Not bad for a position group expected to be a weak spot for the M’s.

As for the offense, it has scored at least five runs in each of the past three games. It has done that without catcher Mike Zunino in each game and All-Star designated hitter Nelson Cruz in the last two, as well.

So, did we underestimate this team?

While it’s obviously too soon to make any grand proclamations, it is worth discussing, as 710 ESPN Seattle’s Bob Stelton says in the video above.
