We’ll have a few weeks to give him a more proper sendoff, but this is a quick announcement of something you might have heard earlier Tuesday: Mike Salk is leaving 710 ESPN Seattle for a radio job in his hometown of Boston.
Mike and Brock Huard made the announcement Tuesday morning. You can listen here.
Mike is expected to stick around until mid-March before making the switch to WEEI 93.7 FM, where he’ll co-host afternoon drive with Michael Holley. It will be a homecoming for Mike, who grew up in the Boston suburb of Sudbury and worked at 890 ESPN Radio in Boston before coming to 710 ESPN Seattle.
Mike’s contributions during his nearly four years here cannot be overstated. His vision and tireless work ethic helped “Brock and Salk” reach a No. 1 ranking, and he’s played a major role in the growth of 710Sports.com.
Again, we will have some time to send Mike off in style. But for now, I can speak for everyone here when I say that we’ll miss him.
