The Seahawks and former Vikings defensive tackle Tom Johnson have agreed to terms on a one-year deal worth up to $2.7 million, according to NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero.
The signing allows Seattle to replenish the interior of their defensive line, a unit now without Pro Bowler Sheldon Richardson (who, coincidentally, signed with the Vikings in free agency). Johnson joins Jarran Reed and second-year player Nazair Jones at the defensive tackle position.
Johnson, 33, played 70 percent of snaps for the Vikings’ defense last year, recording two sacks and 17 tackles. He’ll wrap up his four-year career in Minnesota with 16 sacks, 67 tackles, a forced fumble, and one interception.
