We have a terrific lineup for the Hot Stove show at 7 p.m. Wednesday night on 710 ESPN Seattle. Gary Hill and Dan Wilson will join Aaron Goldsmith in hosting two hours of baseball talk. Scheduled to join the show are Mariners first base coach Chris Prieto, clubhouse manager Ryan Stiles, Rangers beat writer Evan Grant and the one and only Ron Fairly.

Mariners’ focus on bullpen taking pressure off rotation

The Fairly conversation should be fun. In my book he is one of the best storytellers – with the best stories – in the game, and wouldn’t you know it, he has just written his first book. “Fairly at Bat” is a first-person memoir of his 50 years in baseball.

I would expect to hear an update on Dee Gordon’s transition to center field from Prieto, who recently worked with him in Florida on the move. Gordon, who won a Gold Glove at second base while with the Marlins, has been hard at work this offseason getting ready to play center field for the first time as a pro. Stiles can give all of the details on the process of it takes to move the team from Seattle to Peoria for spring training, and Grant should give us a good idea of what to expect from the AL West-rival Rangers. A fun show that I will unfortunately miss, but yes, we will have a podcast.

Notes

• Russell Wilson is a Yankee.

• Mariners outfield prospect Braden Bishop is up to good again.

• More Hall of Fame ballots have been made public as the BBWAA has published the ballots from members who chose to allow their votes to be released by the association. Ryan Thibodaux (@NotMrTibbs) is in the process of updating his ballot tracker.

• Also out today, PECOTA rankings and projections on Baseball Prospectus. It would appear PECOTA is higher on the Mariners than the general public.
