Sorry for the delay but the podcast for Tuesday’s Hot Stove League Show is now up. Hour 1 can be heard above and hour 2 can be found here.
Hour 1 features an interview with third base and catching coach Jeff Datz that I covered in this piece. I found the insight into just what Eric Wedge and coaches saw in the defense of Jesus Montero and John Jaso quite interesting.
Also in hour 1 we talked to Kyle Seager who shared with us his off season workout plan and talked about how he learned to use the mass amount of video that is available at the big league level. We closed the hour out with a fun interview with Tom Wilhelmsen who told us he would be up for trying out the zipline (with a cape on) at Fanfest, talked about why he was able to have the success he did last year and why he loves closing. Hint, “There’s nothing else like it, there’s an energy push, an adrenaline push, there’s nothing else on earth like it. It rocks!”
In the second hour Larry Stone of the Seattle Times joined us and we debated whether or not players associated with PEDs should be allowed in the Hall of Fame. Larry discussed who he voted for and why and also gave his outlook on where the Mariners stand right now and what they need to get done before spring training.
Dave Sims called in for the final segment and he gave us his thoughts on both the Mariners and the Seahawks. Dave will be calling the Seahawks game Sunday for Dial Global.
