Josh Kinney suffered a “stress reaction” in his left rib cage and will be shut down to ensure that it does not turn into a stress fracture. He will be re-evaluated in a couple of weeks but most likely is looking at missing at least a month.

The bullpen fortunately is not an area of concern for the Mariners. While it was completely possible that they could have started the season with what they finished last year with before September callups. Non roster invitee Kameron Loe is pushing for a spot and pitching well and there is a possibility that the loser in the final spot of the rotation could take over as the long person out of the pen. This could suit Blake Beavan well as he is still adjusting to his new delivery. Plenty of options.

On to the lineup…

Seager 4
Bay 7
Ibanez DH
Morse 3
Peguero 9
Shoppach 2
Morban 8
Andino 5
Miller 6
Carraway

Of note…Morse is at first for the first time this spring and Taijuan Walker will follow Carraway and pitch 2 innings.
