Quarterbacks Russell Wilson and Tom Brady couldn’t be more different in terms of playing style, but when it comes to shared traits, there’s one important quality that the two pros share: durability.

710 ESPN Seattle’s Brock Huard spoke about the importance of availability during his Blue 42 segment of Brock and Salk Friday morning. It’s something that’s always impressed him about the Patriots quarterback – and a trait he cautions against taking for granted when it comes to Seattle’s Wilson.

Which Seahawks position group could look the most different in 2018?

“These are two of the toughest suckers playing the position,” Huard said. “When Albert Breer said to us yesterday that Tom played on of these games with a busted up thumb, (you recall), ‘Oh that’s right, he’s has shoulder issues, he’s had all sorts of injuries.’ And you know what? You never hear about them. Part of that’s (Patriots coach) Bill Belichick, but a huge part of that’s Tom Brady. I put Drew Brees right there as well; they are tough guys. And you take it for granted, you just do. We take it for granted with Russell, and his body is beat up as any of those guys at the end of the year. And even this year, with as much as he ran, as much as he got hit, as much as he got harassed and hurried, it took a toll over the course of the season. And you never hear it. You never hear them even halfway lean into it as an excuse or an explanation. The amount of respect I have for that … Peyton (Manning) was the same way when I was in Indi, he was beat up all the time … you certainly never hear it with Brady, and that’s remarkable in 17 seasons of ball.”
