According to Mike Garafolo of the NFL Network, the Seahawks will replace former O-line coach Tom Cable with Solari, who held the role for the team in 2008 and 2009.
Though Solari didn’t stay on staff when Pete Carroll became the team’s head coach in 2010, that wasn’t for a lack of trying.
Mike Solari was one of three assistant coaches Pete Carroll sought to retain in 2010 along with Dan Quinn and Gus Bradley.

Solari, who will turn 63 on Tuesday, comes back to Seattle after two seasons as the New York Giants O-line coach. He has a long and extensive history as an assistant coach, beginning in 1976 at the high school level, in college through much of the 1980s, and the NFL almost exclusively since 1987. Most notably, he was offensive coordinator for the Kansas City Chiefs in 2006 and 2007.
Solari would fill the vacancy left by Cable, who the Seahawks parted ways with after seven seasons last week. Cable has already landed in Oakland, where he was previously head coach, as a member of new head coach Jon Gruden’s staff.
