Let the speculation begin on who will remain on the Seahawks’ coaching staff.

Huard: Seahawks’ Russell Wilson could be listening to a new voice in 2018

Seahawks defensive coordinator Kris Richard is one of the candidates for the Indianapolis Colts’ head coach vacancy and will interview with the team on Friday, according to Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network.

Richard has been with the Seahawks since 2010, first as assistant defensive backs coach, then defensive backs coach from 2012-14. He has been defensive coordinator since 2015.

In Richard’s first season as defensive coordinator, the Seahawks led the NFL in scoring defense for the fourth year in a row and ranked second in yards allowed per game. In 2016, they were third in scoring defense and fifth in yards allowed. This season, Richard’s defense ranked 11th in yards allowed per game and tied for 11th in defensive scoring in the NFL despite season-ending injuries to Pro Bowlers Cliff Avril, Kam Chancellor and Richard Sherman.

Richard, 38, played in college for USC and in the NFL with Seattle and San Francisco. He spent time at USC as a graduate assistant before joining the Seahawks’ coaching staff.
