A lot of change is expected in 2018 for the Seattle Seahawks after they finished the season 9-7 and missed the playoffs for the first time since 2011. And not all of that change may be by the team’s choice.

Seahawks coach Pete Carroll joined Brock and Salk on Tuesday morning for the final edition of The Pete Carroll Show of the season, and he hinted that Cliff Avril and Kam Chancellor, who both suffered season-ending neck injuries in 2017, may be heading towards retirement.
“Cliff and Kam are going to have a hard time playing football again,” Carroll said.
That would force the Seahawks to make some pretty significant changes on defense, as they would be losing Pro Bowl-caliber players both on the defensive line and in the secondary.
Carroll covered much more in the nearly half hour-long interview, including the future of the coaching staff, why the Seahawks’ big trades of 2017 weren’t an instance of them going all-in, and whether the team is set for a rebuild next season.
