LISTEN: • What did Carson Wentz do well against the Hawks in 2016 that has progressed even more in 2017?

The Seahawks face off against the Philadelphia Eagles Sunday night in what might be Seattle’s biggest test of the season. The Seahawks will have homefield advantage, but putting pressure on quarterback Carson Wentz will be a challenge.

It’s not just because Wentz is 6-feet-5 and 245 lbs. and difficult to tackle, nor is it because the high-flying Eagles are on a nine-game win streak since taking their only loss in Week 2.

It’s because Wentz did something especially well against Seattle last year – and this year, he’s even better at it. According to 710 ESPN Seattle’s Brock Huard, Wentz’s ability to use his eyes to manipulate a defense will pose a serious threat to the defense.

“As a rookie quarterback, he was not overwhelmed by the scene and the moment,” Huard said of Wentz’s performance against the Seahawks in their last meeting. “Remember: he had a bunch of drops in that game, too, huge drops, in some critical moments. But his ability to manipulate the defense (is what stood out).”

Huard talked about Wentz’s play and what challenges the Seahawks will face Sunday during his Blue 42 segment of Brock and Salk. Listen to the entire clip here or embedded above.
