It’s that time again. The stove has been lit and there is plenty to talk about, so the Hot Stove podcast returns.
Once again, I and James Osborn, aka Boy Howdy, will bring you an hour of baseball talk as the Mariners go about the business of putting together the 2018 team.
Mariners bring back Hisashi Iwakuma on minor league deal
Podcast No. 1 is up now and takes care of the housekeeping, getting you up to date on the comings and goings of both players and staff and the impact that one new member of that staff, Dr. Lorena Martin, has already had. Howdy takes a look at the roster as it stands now and has an interesting take on why, even without much change, 2018 could look very different from 2017 – or not. And is this the year we see Jerry Dipoto make a big dollar signing?
We take a look at the assignment that has been given to prospective suitors of Shohei Ohtani. While the Mariners have the majority of their ducks in a row, Howdy points out an area of particular concern.
We will go more in depth on Ohtani next week, hear Howdy’s offseason plan and have a special guest join us as well.
