The Seahawks have waived veteran defensive end Dwight Freeney, just four games after signing him as a free agent.
Freeney, 37, joined Seattle to help with its pass rush after the team lost Cliff Avril to a neck injury for the season.

A former All-Pro considered to be a future Hall of Famer, Freeney has three tackles – all sacks – with the Seahawks.
Freeney is a three-time first-team All-Pro, seven-time Pro Bowler who played the majority of his career with the Indianapolis Colts. He has 125.5 career sacks, 17th on the NFL’s all-time list. He had tenures with the Chargers, Cardinals and Falcons in recent years before finding his way to Seattle.
