Earlier this year, we looked at how Washington Huskies left tackle Trey Adams’ NFL Draft stock was in the lower first round or second round. As we all know, he was lost for the season due to a knee injury and will come back to the team next season. So let’s look at the next most interesting pro prospect on Washington’s offensive line: senior center Shelton Coleman.

WSU jumps ahead of Huskies in AP Top 25 poll

As a draft prospect, Coleman is considered a sixth- or seventh-round choice, or maybe even somebody who will be available as a free agent after the 2018 draft. He definitely is NFL-ready, though.

What I can see happening with the 6-foot-4, 293-pounder is being taken on the third day of the draft, and if he doesn’t make the roster out of training camp he will be on a practice squad. That would be following the same path as former Husky Jake Eldrenkamp, who started the season on the Los Angeles Rams practice squad but was released after a week.

The big thing for Coleman is that he has experience. He hasn’t missed a start in four years. He’s played an impressive 50 games as a Husky.
