Clayton’s Schooled: NFL injury expert Dr. David Chao

Nov 1, 2017, 4:33 PM

Dr. David Chao is one of the best injury experts around the National Football League and a great follow on Twitter @ProFootballDoc. A former team doctor of the Chargers, Chao breaks down NFL injuries as they happen.

He joins me on the latest episode of Schooled with the Professor to discuss the current state of injuries in the NFL. Chao explains how he watches games and then replays when a player suffers an injury. Not only can he pinpoint the injury, but he can determine the length of time the player might be out. That information is vital for fans of their teams, but also huge for fantasy players.

On Schooled, Chao goes in depth on how he studies the tape, how he’s about 90 to 95 percent accurate on his conclusions, and we discuss some of the top injury trends in the league.

You can listen to the podcast embedded above, through the 710 ESPN Seattle podcast page, or on your favorite podcast app including iTunes.
