The Seahawks are reportedly still getting left tackle Duane Brown in a trade, just not in the deal originally thought due to a reported failed physical by cornerback Jeremy Lane with the Texans.

With Lane failing his physical, the Seahawks are instead sending two high-round draft picks to Houston for Brown and a 2018 fifth-round pick, according to John McClain of the Houston Chronicle.

The original deal was set to send Lane, a 2018 fifth-round draft pick and 2019 second-round selection to the Texans for Brown. The difference would cost Seattle two rounds in the 2018 pick they would send to Houston, though the Texans will offset that by including a lower-round selection to complete the trade.

With Lane staying in Seattle, he’ll return to a backup role in the secondary after losing his starting job to rookie Shaquill Griffin. The 27-year-old Lane has been plagued by groin and thigh injuries this month.

Keeping Lane will provide the Seahawks with some salary cap difficulties as they won’t be able to shed his $2 million salary for this season, even if they cut him. Seattle was already having to make major changes to take on Brown’s salary, with quarterback Russell Wilson reportedly re-working his deal to allow the addition of Brown.
