Center Justin Britt came back to finish Sunday’s game at New York while C.J. Prosise never got a chance to really get going.

O’Neil: Seahawks’ offense might not be so bad

Both will be question marks this week because of ankle injuries, according to coach Pete Carroll.

Britt suffered his injury in the first quarter on Seattle’s second possession. He missed six plays before returning to finish the game. He was very sore on Monday, though, and while coach Pete Carroll didn’t rule him out, he doesn’t expect his center to be ready for practice on Wednesday when the Seahawks begin to prepare for Houston.

“We won’t know about Justin until later in the week,” Carroll said. “Each day will tell us something, but I wouldn’t think he would have a chance to practice until Friday or something like that if he can. We’ll see.”

If Britt can’t play, the Seahawks will have a choice at center. Ethan Pocic is the backup, but split time at left guard with Mark Glowinski in Sunday’s game. If Seattle wanted to leave Pocic at left guard, Joey Hunt could be promoted from the practice squad to play center.

Prosise was active on Sunday after missing the previous two games with an ankle injury. Prosise was on the field for two plays before he had to leave the game.

“On the pass protection, he loaded up and just tweaked a little bit,” Carroll said. “Didn’t sprain his ankle. Didn’t re-injure it, but it tweaked and showed it wasn’t as stable as we had hoped and the work we had done in practice wasn’t indicative of what he needing in the game obviously because he didn’t hold up.”

Carroll said he thought Prosise would be available to practice as he did last week, but was unsure if he’ll be ready to play.

“We’ll see what it is and we’ll have more insights now to know what he can handle,” Carroll said. “So maybe he can play this week, maybe he can’t.”
