LISTEN: Steve Raible, voice of the Seahawks, looks ahead to return from bye week

The bye week arrived at a time when the Seattle Seahawks truly needed it. Now the hope is that it had the intended effect for a team that has been hit hard by injuries.

Steve Raible, the play-by-play voice of Seahawks radio broadcasts, joined John Clayton on 710 ESPN Seattle on Tuesday to discuss what he believes is of the upmost importance for the Hawks coming out of their bye.

Opportunities open in NFC for Seahawks, but division race tightens

“I think the biggest thing that the team needs to look forward to, first of all, is get healthy and stay healthy,” Raible said. “Five games in and already you’ve got issues. You lost your starting left tackle, who knows if Cliff Avril’s ever going to come back and play. Guys are banged up. You are hoping this week got everybody healthy and then they can play this last long stretch.

“The other thing is keeping everybody healthy. We remember what happened when Earl (Thomas) went out last year. The back end of the defense just literally fell apart.”

Listen to the full interview with Raible at this link, where he talks about a neck injury a former Seahawks teammate of his had that could be similar to Avril’s and thoughts about the Seahawks’ up-and-down offense.
