The Seahawks are fairly healthy heading into Sunday night’s game against the Indianapolis Colts. Just three players are listed as questionable or doubtful to play: wide receiver Doug Baldwin, cornerback Neiko Thorpe, and running back C.J. Prosise.
The Seahawks may well have Doug Baldwin (groin) active Sunday, Pete Carroll told reporters Friday, but running back C.J. Prosise (ankle) remains doubtful.
Salk: Will Seahawks reach limit with Prosise’s injuries?
“Doug made it through practice today, did a nice job,” Carroll said. “We’ve got to make sure all the way up to game time that he’s feeling good enough to carry out a full game plan and all of that. We’re prepared if he’s not able, but he looked good today (and) he’s very confident that he’s got a chance. But we will wait all the way until Sunday evening before we make that declaration.”
Carroll mentioned rookie receiver Amara Darboh as a candidate who could see more work if Baldwin is limited or unable to play.
Running back C.J. Prosise did some running Friday, but Carroll said remains doubtful and it “will be hard for him to make it.” He confirmed that J.D. McKissic will likely fill that role should Prosise be inactive.
Special teams ace Neiko Thorpe, who was sidelined last week with an ankle injury, is listed as questionable.
“(Thorpe) didn’t look like he was going to get there yet, but we’re still going to wait, we can wait it out, maybe he makes a turn. There’s been enough time when he could make a jump here, and we’ll see what happens,” Carroll said.
Included in other updates were linebacker Dewey McDonald — who will have surgery on his ACL – and safety Earl Thomas. Thomas sat out much of last week resting a sore knee, but Carroll said the free safety is “fine” for Week 4. Linebacker D.J. Alexander (hamstring) will also make his return Sunday, which should give a boost to Seattle’s special teams unit.
