The Seahawks are bringing in former 49ers starting cornerback Tramaine Brock for a visit on Tuesday, according to Pro Football Talk.
Brock, 28, made 40 starts over seven seasons with the 49ers, who released him in April when he was arrested on suspicion of felony domestic violence. Brock was cleared last week when the Santa Clara County District Attorney’s office dismissed the case based on a lack of evidence. Brock released a statement in which he apologized to his family for what he called a verbal altercation and said he never put his hands on the mother of his children, per PFT.
Seattle’s interest in Brock makes sense with the team having an opening at right cornerback, where Jeremy Lane, Neiko Thorpe and rookie Shaquill Griffin are all competing. DeShawn Shead started there for the last season and a half but is coming off a torn ACL that will keep him out past the start of the season.
