The Mariners have reportedly made their second move today and third since Thursday, sending veteran relievers Jean Machi and Mark Lowe to the Chicago White Sox, according to Tacoma Rainiers broadcaster Mike Curto.

The Mariners are getting cash back in the deal from Chicago, reports The Seattle Times’ Ryan Divish.

Lowe and Machi have been pitching for Triple-A Tacoma, though each has spent time in the Mariners’ bullpen.

Machi, 35, appeared in five games early this season for Seattle, allowing two runs on seven hits and four walks over 7 2/3 innings. He previously pitched with the Giants and White Sox.

Lowe, 34, began his career with the Mariners in 2006, and later pitched for Texas, Anaheim and Cleveland. He had a solid return to Seattle in 2015, was traded to Toronto midway that season, and spent 2016 with Detroit. He signed with the Mariners last offseason on a minor-league deal and has spent the campaign thus far with the Rainiers.

Machi and Lowe would have a significantly better chance of pitching of an MLB bullpen with the White Sox than the Mariners. Seattle just added David Phelps to its stable of relievers via trade, while Chicago sent pitchers David Robertson and Tommy Kahnle to the Yankees earlier in the week.
