Bob, Groz and Tom: How good can Mariners’ Mike Zunino become?

Mike Zunino’s offensive surge continued Monday night with a pair of two-run home runs in the Mariners’ win over Detroit. That gives him nine homers, 28 RBIs and a .338 average in 23 game since being recalled from Triple-A in late-May. He leads MLB with 26 RBIs in June, which is already the most ever in a single month by a Mariners catcher and tied for fifth-most by any player in club history in June.
It’s been a significant turnaround for Zunino, who was hitting .167 with no home runs and only two RBIs in 24 games when he was sent down to Tacoma.
It had “Bob, Groz and Tom” wondering how good Zunino can become. In the video above, they discuss his ceiling, how real his recent success seems and also the influence that Mariners hitting coach Edgar Martinez may have had on him.
