Steve Largent’s story is well-known among fans of football, especially those that root for the Seattle Seahawks.
Unheralded out of college, Largent ended up being the face of the Seahawks franchise in its early years, putting together a Hall of Fame career. And when it was over, he shifted into politics, spending nearly eight years as a United States Congressman from Oklahoma.
What people aren’t as aware of, though, is Largent’s turbulent life before he became a public figure.
That’s what Largent talks about with Brock Huard on the latest episode of Above & Beyond. The conversation covers his growing up in a broken home, how coaches filled the void of his absent father, and how he learned the importance of forgiveness.
