RENTON – Seahawks coach Pete Carroll had no definitive updates on the injuries that linebacker Bruce Irvin and wide receiver Paul Richardson sustained Sunday, but his choice of words suggested that both players could miss some time.
Richardson injured his hamstring late in the second quarter of Seattle’s loss to Arizona, presumably on the 40-yard catch that he made to set up the Seahawks’ first score as he left the game immediately after that play and never returned. Irvin sprained the medial collateral ligament in his knee in the second half and didn’t return to the game.
Carroll said Monday that the team is still awaiting further information on Irvin and Richardson but that each player “legitimately” has an injury. Carroll will often use the word “legit” to describe injuries that are severe enough to sideline the player for at least one game if not more.
Running back Marshawn Lynch entered Sunday’s game with an abdominal injury but played his typical amount of snaps. Asked how he made it out of the game, Carroll said: “He ran really hard and ran really well in the game. I think he’s a little sore today but we’ll see how he goes.”
