The Mariners have activated Steve Cishek from the 10-day disabled list and optioned Zac Curtis to Double-A Arkansas in a swap of relievers.
The Mariners made those moves ahead of Monday’s series opener against the Athletics at Safeco Field, which begins at 7:10 on 710 ESPN Seattle.
Cishek had been on the DL while recovering from surgery last October to repair a tear in the labrum of his left hip. He went 1-0 with a 3.00 ERA in seven combined rehab appearances between Arkansas and Triple-A Tacoma.
Curtis, 24, threw 1 2/3 scoreless innings over two relief appearances after being called up from Double-A earlier this month. He was acquired in the offseason trade with Arizona that also brought Jean Segura and Mitch Haniger to Seattle.
