RENTON – After using their first pick in the draft on Malik McDowell, the Seahawks doubled up on defensive tackles with Nazair Jones from North Carolina.
Seattle chose Jones at No. 102 overall, the third of the team’s four picks in the third round.
Jones is listed at 6 feet 5 and 304 pounds. He left UNC after a junior season in which he ranked fourth on the Tar Heels with 70 tackles, including 9.5 for loss, and recorded 2.5 sacks.

His selection and that of McDowell in the second round make it four defensive tackles the Seahawks have drafted over the last two years, following Jarran Reed (second) and Quinton Jefferson (fifth) in 2016. Seattle used a second-round pick on Frank Clark the year before, which means the Seahawks have added plenty of youth to a defensive line where starting ends Michael Bennett and Cliff Avril are both in their early 30s.
Earlier Friday, Seattle chose LSU offensive lineman Ethan Pocic in the second round (No. 58 overall) and then used third-round picks on cornerback Shaquill Griffin from Central Florida (No. 90) and safety Delano Hill from Michigan (95).
