Danny Valencia is back at first base and James Paxton will look to extend his streak of 21 scoreless innings as the Mariners begin a series in Oakland at 7:07 on 710 ESPN Seattle on Thursday night.
Valencia returns to the lineup after Mike Freeman played first in Seattle’s series finale against Miami on Wednesday. The 32-year-old Valencia is still trying to find his rhythm in his first season with the Mariners, hitting just .154 and no home runs in 15 games.
